Lines on the page are invisible or not the right thickness,/Lexmark printers
This fix is specifically for cases where the lines on the page are
invisible or not the right thickness, but it might work for other
lexmark printing problems, and also on other brands of printers that
have line problems.
Windows 2000n (or XP)
In the printers folder right click the printer.
Open the drivers properties
Click on the advanced tab at the top and click on the print processor at the
bottom.
Set the processor to winprint and the datatype to RAW.
Apply the changes.
Windows 98
In the printers folder right click the printer.
Click Properties
Click Details
Click Spool Settings
With drop down set Spool Data Format to RAW
Set the processor to winprint OK
OK
Close.
There are two settings that can effect the thickness of the lines. First
of all there is the printer resolution aka print quality aka DPI. This
setting is somewhere in the printer settings in your printer control
panel, it varies from computer to computer. Basically you want to make
the resolution lower, the quality less, or the dpi smaller. This should
make the lines larger.
The only thing that might effect the thickness of those lines is a
setting in the page designer called line width but if you have never
changed anything in the wheel designer, or if you deleted the solar fire
folder when you reinstalled the program, then this will eliminate the
possibility.
Try going to the lexmark web site and downloading and installing the
latest drivers for your printer, even if you already have the latest
version installed. This will make sure that all the files are in the
right place. If everything worked before and now it doesn't then it's
probably due to some changes you made in the lexmark printer settings
the control panel.
It may be though that there is no solution to the problem because we
have had this strange problem with a couple of other people with similar
lexmark printers and at least one person wasn't able to fix the problem.
Lexmark is the only brand that has this problem.
