To be able to use the media features you will need to be on a computer
with the Windows XP operating system. Additionally, you will need to
install the Windows Media Encoder that is included on the Chartwheels
install menu. You will also need a microphone that will connect with
your computer.
Access the media feature by clicking on the Client tab on the
Working Data Box. To begin recording a reading, click on the Record
Reading button that is located bottom center on the client menu. This
brings up the small Record Options task menu (you may not see it and if
you don't, it might be hiding behind one of the other open windows on
your screen).
If you are recording audio only, you will use the top two buttons
on the recorder. If you are recording both audio and video, you will
use the lower three buttons on the Record Options menu.
To do an audio recording:
-Click on the Open Recorder button to open the voice recorder menu.
-Once you see the Open Recorder menu, I recommend that you also
check out the settings for the microphone volume by clicking on the
Audio Configuration button.
- When you are ready to begin recording your reading, click on the Record button.
-When you are finished recording the reading, just close the Voice
Recorder Menu. The file is automatically saved as shown on the Voice
Recorder menu.
-If you would like to copy the file to CD, use the Copy to CD
button located on the Record Options window. The files are recorded in
MP3 format.
