How to open charts in my SF6 SF7 userdata? I can get the SF3/4/5 charts Fine.

The new chart file format for Solar Fire 6/7 is proprietary and hasn't been released to the public by Esoteric. So you should keep your charts in the older Solar Fire 5 format if you want to use them with other programs. When you create a new chart file it will ask you if you want to use the new Solar Fire 6 format, and you should say No.

So what you can do right now is load all the charts in your solar fire 6/7 file into your calculated charts area. You can do that by clicking on the first chart in the list and then holding down the shift key and clicking on the last chart in the list. This will select all the charts in the chart database so you can load them all at once. Then select to save them into a new chart file, and make sure that you say no when it asks you if you want a solar fire 6/7 file.

If you have no older SF5 files and this is a new program or you simply wish to have charts you can view in Reports and share with SF6/SF7.

You must read Help on how to convert files back to V5 Format
The convert File Utility is located under "Utilities" it is called  "Chart Import and Export"
follow the directions in help to convert.

Files in V5 format will not have "life events" option available

A quick way with out converting is to go to "Chart" select "open"
Click on the word "File" at the top
Hit the "create" Button to the right, Type in a name for the Folder as an example ReportCharts.CHT
Make sure whatever you call the Folder you type in the extension  ".CHT"
Click "OK" it  will ask you if you want to create a V6 or V7 format Say "NO"
Follow the directions above (in the Knowledge base Article) and save any chart you want to be able to view to this Folder "ReportCharts" and you will be able to view them in Reports
